AI Social Studio, by DevCloud LLC · Last updated October 26, 2026
AI Social Studio is a Shopify app made by DevCloud LLC ("DevCloud", "we", "us"). It publishes a store's products to social media on a schedule, writes captions, makes product photos and creates product listings with AI, and shows how the posts perform. This policy explains what information the app handles, why, who it is shared with, how long it is kept, and the choices you have.
It applies to the merchants who install the app (store owners and staff, "you"), and to people whose photos a merchant uploads to the app. Questions or requests: sales@devcloudsoftware.com.
1. What the app does not access
The app asks Shopify only for access to your products, inventory, locations and sales channels. It has no access to your customers or your orders, so it never handles your shoppers' personal information.
2. Information we collect
From Shopify, when you install the app
- Your store's details: store name, domains, contact email, store owner's name, phone number, address, country, currency, time zone and Shopify plan.
- An access token that lets the app work with your store, and the permissions you granted.
- Your products: titles, descriptions, prices, variants, images, tags, vendor, collections and stock levels. The app reads them to make posts and keeps a copy of what it needs for your campaigns.
- Your plan and charge status. Subscriptions and image packs are billed by Shopify: we never see your card or bank details.
From the social accounts you connect
- The account's name, username, profile picture and ID, and the Pinterest boards you choose.
- Access tokens from Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest and X, or the X API keys you enter, so the app can post for you.
- Your posts on those accounts (text, link, image and date) and their public metrics: views, reach, clicks, likes, comments, shares and saves. This includes recent posts you published outside the app, so Analytics can show them. We use and keep only the counts, never who liked or commented.
What you create in the app
- Campaigns, post templates, captions and the instructions you give the AI.
- Photos you upload: photos of products, and photos or descriptions of people you add as models (see section 5).
- Images, captions and product listings the AI makes for you, and the history of what was published.
- Messages you send us from the app, with your store's email address so we can reply.
Technical information
- Your IP address, browser and device type, and the pages you request, in our server logs.
- Error reports when something fails, which can include the same details and what you were doing.
3. Cookies and browser storage
The app uses only what it needs to work:
- A session cookie that keeps you signed in through Shopify, and a security cookie that protects forms.
- Your browser's storage for interface preferences (for example, a tip you dismissed) and for temporary data while you work (for example, AI ideas already shown).
We use no advertising or analytics cookies and no tracking pixels. When you connect a Facebook or Instagram account, Meta's login runs on the page and may set its own cookies under Meta's privacy policy.
4. How we use information
- To provide the app: publish your posts, generate content with AI, schedule campaigns and show analytics.
- To apply your plan's limits and process charges through Shopify.
- To email you about your account, for example when a social account needs to be reconnected.
- If you uninstall the app, to send you a few emails asking why and inviting you back. Write to us and we stop.
- To answer your support requests.
- To keep the app secure, prevent abuse and fix problems.
- To understand how the app is used, in aggregate (for example, how many AI images are made), and improve it.
We do not sell personal information, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not use your products, photos or content to train AI models.
5. AI features and photos of people
To make content, the app sends what the task needs to AI providers and keeps the result:
- OpenAI receives product information (title, description, price, tags), your caption instructions and product photos, to write captions and product listings, and to make the images of some AI campaigns.
- Google (Gemini API) receives product photos, the photos or description of the model you choose, and the scene and instructions you pick, to make AI photos.
These providers handle the data under their API terms: OpenAI and Google Gemini API. AI results can be wrong: review them before you publish.
Photos of real people. You can add a person as a model by uploading photos of them. Only upload photos of people who have agreed to it: you are responsible for having their consent. Those photos are stored privately (they are never publicly accessible), used only to make your images, and deleted when you delete the model or uninstall the app. The ready-made models in the app are fictional people created by AI.
6. Who we share information with
We share information only with the services that run the app, each for its own task:
| Service | What it does | What it receives |
|---|---|---|
| Shopify | The platform the app runs in; billing | Your plan choices and charges |
| DigitalOcean | Our servers and database (New York, USA) | Everything described in this policy |
| Amazon Web Services (CloudFront) | Delivers the app's files and the images it makes | App files and generated images |
| OpenAI | Captions, product listings and some campaign images | See section 5 |
| Google (Gemini API) | AI photos | See section 5 |
| Meta (Facebook, Instagram), Pinterest, X | Publishing to the accounts you connect, and their metrics | Your posts' text, images and links, and your access tokens |
| TinyURL | Shortens product links, only if you turn on the URL shortener | Your product links |
| SendGrid (Twilio) | Sends our emails | Your store's email and the message |
Error monitoring runs on our own services. We may also disclose information when the law requires it, to protect the rights and safety of our users or others, or as part of a merger or sale of our business, in which case this policy keeps applying to your information.
7. Where information is stored
Our servers are in the United States (New York). If you use the app from another country, your information is transferred to and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from yours. We protect it as this policy describes wherever it is processed.
8. How long we keep it
- We keep your information while the app is installed on your store.
- Photos, models and AI products you delete in the app are deleted from our servers right away.
- When you uninstall the app, Shopify asks us to erase your store's data 48 hours later. We then delete your store's details, campaigns, connected accounts and their tokens, publishing history, analytics, AI content, photos and models.
- After that we keep only a one-way fingerprint of your store's myshopify address, how many of its free AI images it used and whether it got a test pack of images, so they aren't given again if the app is installed again. The fingerprint can't be turned back into your address, and nothing else about your store is kept with it.
- Separately, we keep your store's name, email address and the dates you installed and uninstalled our apps in our records of the stores that use them: for accounting, and for the emails after an uninstall. Ask us and we delete them.
- We may keep records we need for legal reasons, and aggregate figures that no longer identify your store.
- Server logs and error reports are kept only for a limited time, to keep the service secure and fix problems.
9. Security
All traffic to and from the app is encrypted (HTTPS). Access to our servers and data is limited to the people who run the service. Photos you upload of people and of unpublished products are never publicly accessible. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will let you know, as the law requires, if a breach affects it.
10. Your choices and rights
- Disconnect a social account at any time in Social Networks: its access token is removed.
- Delete photos, models and products in the app; uninstall the app to have all your data erased.
- Ask us for a copy of your information, or to correct or delete it, by writing to sales@devcloudsoftware.com. We reply within 30 days.
Depending on where you live (for example, the EU, the UK or California), you may also have the right to object to or restrict how we use your information, to data portability, and to complain to your data protection authority. We use your information because it is needed to provide the app you installed, and for our legitimate interests in keeping it secure and improving it. We do not sell or share personal information for advertising, and we will not treat you differently for using these rights.
If you are a shopper of a store that uses the app: the app holds none of your information. Please contact the store directly.
11. Children
The app is for businesses and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
12. Changes to this policy
We will update this page when the app's handling of information changes, and change the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will also tell you in the app or by email.
